Our school has developed an authorised practical training system. Practical training programmes for cooks, pastry-cooks, waiters, bartenders and trade specialities are integrated. We provide excellent facilities for students to gain the professional skills.
Practical training for cooks starts by preparing less complicated and finishes with occasional and celebratory dishes. Food made by our students is daily served at the school bar and canteen whereas occasional dishes enrich party tables.
Pastry-cooks similarly start studying the secrets of confectionary art by cooking simplest products which are daily sold for our students and bar visitors. We have created original recipes and produce exclusively delicious and attractive products.
Waiters and bartenders take delight in serving all the cooked dishes and pastry products to visitors, master communication art. A good word heard from waiter evokes your mood, jolly up your day. It is not easy to serve a visitor, you need to have a deep knowledge.
How different are ways to serve a visitor! You can learn all that and use those skills not only in your professional life.
Students of trade specialities have the practical training at school shop. They communicate with suppliers, practices using computer software. Moreover they sell confectionary products. All the operations in this work place are similar to those in ordinary city shops only the range of activities is narrowed.
Part of the practical training for trade commercial assistants is organised in simulation firm „Ateitis“ (Future). Work is organised in the following departments:
- Human resources
- Purchasing
- Sale
- Marketing
- Custom
- Finance
Operating in all the departments is computerized. Students work with custom declaration software MDG-2, integrated accountancy software STEKAS – APSKAITA, staff and working time recording software STEKAS-PERSONALAS, software VEDA and internet.
