About us

The school was founded in 1961, and later, in 1994, it was renamed into Klaipeda Tourism School. Students can choose from the variety of study programmes: cook, confectioner, waiter and bartender, travel sales agent, financial service provider, accountant, guest service specialist, organizer of events and recreation services, sports organization activity administrator, sales consultant, office administrator. Currently, the school has enrolled about 600 students.

Since 1998 the school has been participating in various national and international projects, such as Leonardo da Vinci, Erasmus+, Nordplus, and other. The school has acquired extensive experience organizing mobility visits, and accepting aspiring teachers and students from abroad.

The school has a modern, innovative accommodation, catering and trade sector which provides students with practical training. There are highly-equipped practical training facilities for chefs, confectioners, waiters, bartenders, trade companies‘ assistant managers, alongside with a library, a modernized reading room, and classrooms.

The school, with its modern infrastructure, runs exceptional curricula and competitive training, strives to develop quality vocational training, aligning vocational training policies with regional and local economic development strategies. The principle of lifelong learning has been implemented, adapting flexibly to changing environmental conditions and strengthening employment opportunities.

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES OF KTM:

  • To improve the quality and efficiency of education and vocational training by implementing a culture of quality in school activities based on data analysis and self-assessment.
  • To strengthen the management of school processes by computerizing the school information system, improving the qualification of teachers in use of modern technologies in order to ensure a safe and high-quality environment.
  • Increase the attractiveness of vocational training by developing social partnerships, internationalization and networking.
